About John Sirrelle

John was born in Birmingham 1948 and moved to Highworth in 1985. As a child he was always interested in nature and often drew his cat and other animals, especially horses. In 1988 John retrained to teach Graphics, Design and Technology, which influenced the detail found in his animal pictures.

Although he has drawn and painted in many styles and genre, he decided to specialise in animal pictures in 2012. He has developed his own unique style and technique, using liquid acrylic and high-quality coloured pencils. John’s animal paintings have received several awards, and each year he donates at least one painting to a good cause. Last year it was The Wiltshire Wildlife Trust and this year Sketch for Survival.
