At one time Wantage was described as ‘... a positive sink of iniquity, a den of murderers
and thieves, destroying the town and making it a highly unsavoury and
undesirable place in which to live!’

Was it really so bad? Please join the Friends of the Vale & Downland Museum to find out as Sem Seabourne tells us about the darkest period in the history of Wantage.
Tickets for this talk cost £5 for Friends* and £7 for non-Friends

*Please note that, if you are a Friend, you will be able to buy more than one ticket at the Friends rate. However you MUST show your membership card to take advantage of this rate. If you are a Friend and don't have your card, it will be waiting for you at the Reception Desk. Tea and Coffee will be available from 7pm.
